What Is Design?

Seriously, what is design? When someone says they are a designer that I know to be suitably impressed, but it's one of those jobs that seem to just pretend they do not know what that means. The designers, who do things? He set things right? Or just ideas and things to do? They seem to do a lot of money so what they are doing?

It always irritated me, so I looked at some definitions.

"Design is the field of human experience, skills and knowledge that addresses the ability of man to shape his environment in terms of its material and spiritual needs" of the 2011 E Archer

This definition is a bit wide for me. It seems that every time I move my bed or couch, I'm a designer and while thinking of going to bars and fantasy: "I am a designer" is a kind of attraction, m help understand what the design.

To design is to "initiate change in man things," Jones the 2011 e

This is a definition I can understand. Devise ways to create or modify anything artificial. By this definition a lot less people would be designers.

I did read a little more 'and it turns out the design can be classified in three different ways: Discipline, Process and Artifact.

Design as a discipline, designers usually choose a discipline, and it shapes the way they approach the design, or how they "initiate change." Disciplines look at the way people, products and environment interact and find ways to improve this interaction, but each discipline is done in different ways. Graphic Design focuses on art and media, it may be the appearance of a product or the presentation of visual graphics and digital of text. Industrial Design is about more tangible, physical objects. Industrial Designers working to improve the way we work items, watches and is appreciated. Interaction Design focuses on digital products and systems. Work Design services to improve interaction and user experience with a company and employees if access to a service.

Design as a process - the process of design is about solving a problem. Different disciplines use different tools and processes to find solutions. Focus groups, check, interviews, prototyping is used to evaluate the problem and work toward a solution. One thing they all have in common is the process designers need to balance the needs and goals of users, product limitations, problems and customers or the environment, and always find a solution. It is the conceptual design that focuses on the process of social interaction and physical design that is on call.

Elaborate the design - the planning process leading to the creation of artifacts, such as models, simulations, prototypes, sketches, guides, programs, plans, etc. These are also the type of drawing.
